John Marzano Woodbat High School Scout League (2008 graduates and
under)

John Marzano is a former MLB player, college All American, 1984
Olympian, and current sports newscaster.

This is a high school Woodbat league for 2008 Graduates and under. In
Florida, California, Arizona and Texas there are scout teams, that is,
teams put together by major league Area Scouts intended to develop and
showcase high school players who have professional and college aspirations.

There are no scout teams in this area. College players have college
summer leagues like the Cape Cod league to showcase their talent for professional
teams. Therefore, John Marzano has designed this scout league as a test
program to give local players the benefit of a scout team, in a "Cape Cod"
type high school league.

Initially, the league will invite 7 Delaware Valley quality programs to
field teams to play a 12-15 game schedule at a central venue (primarily
Sunoco Field in Philadelphia).

The league will begin with 3 triple headers (each day) over Memorial
Day Weekend and run through mid July. Games will be primarily weekdays so as not to interfere with team tournament schedules. Schedules will be flexible
and built around participating team scheduling needs. Each team will have
approximately 2 games per week.

Marzano will provide team rosters and the league schedule to Major
League Area Scouts and urge they attend games. Marzano will also contact college
coaches and suggest they add the league to their recruiting schedule.

The league is a test program that will focus significant attention on
Delaware Valley players. Hopefully, it will aid local colleges in
recruiting local players and provide area professional scouts with early
looks at promising local players.

Rosters will be 15 player minimum (20 player maximum). Teams will
provide game balls and pay umpire fees. There is no league fee . There is however,
a forfeit bond ($300.00). Any team forfeiting, regardless of cause, will be
removed from the league, their bond will be forfeited (less umpire fees) to
the team they were to play. That team will be replaced, if possible, by a
wait list team. Absent forfeit, the bond will be returned at seasons end.

Each team will be required to take pre-game infield/outfield.

The league is by invitation, based on known local team reputation.
Teams are encouraged to add the strongest players possible to their rosters (all
star type teams).

An invitation must be accepted 7 days from its offer. If accepted the
forfeit bond must be tendered along with proof of insurance, naming the
League as additional insured. Final rosters will be due on or before
5-1-07. The schedule is intended to be available by March 1, 2007.

This letter is an invitation to have your team participate.

To participate in the League, you must contact: Mark Hill, 610-608-3042
or John Marzano, 215-778-7277.
